CASE STUDY: MWF TECHNIK EXPANDS PRODUCTION CAPABILITIES IN INFRARED WELDING

With a new infrared welding machine, MWF Technik GmbH & Co. KG is expanding its capabilities in precision plastic welding. The solution was implemented through KVG and improves efficiency, repeatability, and quality in production.

MWF Technik GmbH & Co. KG, based in Siershahn, develops and manufactures plastic and metal components and systems for industrial applications. The company operates in two areas: MWF Customizing for customer-specific special solutions, and MWF Systems with its own products and assemblies for plastic piping systems. In both areas, precise plastic welding plays a central role.

To meet growing demands, MWF commissioned a new SP110-S V3 infrared welding machine in 2025 – supplied and supported by KVG.

Precision plastic welding for valves and sensors

At MWF, the machine is primarily used for welding valves, sensors, special connections, and isometric components. Plastics such as PP, PE, PVDF, and ECTFE are processed. The system covers diameter ranges from d20 to d110 and enables precise, reproducible production.

“The machine gives us a very high level of repeatability. A defined dimension can be entered and is then reproduced exactly with every weld,” explains Dominic Völker, shareholder and responsible for technical sales, development, and design in the field of plastic technology at MWF.

Another advantage in day-to-day operation is the quick change of clamping jaws. Thanks to the magnetic system, the jaws can be changed much more easily and quickly than on the previous machine – a practical benefit that noticeably simplifies workflows in production.

When purchasing the machine, MWF once again relied on its partnership with KVG Staudt.

With the new infrared welding machine, MWF is strengthening its production capabilities in plastic technology and can continue to offer customers precise solutions for industrial applications.
