Warehouse logistics specialists accept all kinds of goods in logistics centres, industrial companies, shipping companies and in mail-order business, and check their quantity and quality based on accompanying documents. They organise the unloading of the goods, arrange them and store them appropriately. They plan delivery tours in the outgoing goods department and determine the cheapest shipping method.

APPRENTICE TASKS:
Getting to know the business processes from incoming goods to outgoing goods
Storage of our more than 8,000 plastics products
Goods receiving department including quality check of incoming goods
Preparing and dispatching our products
Picking and packing goods
Carrying out inventory controls
Loading and unloading lorries
Involvement in logistical planning processes
Operating forklift trucks
Acquiring the forklift driver’s licence
APPRENTICE PROFILE:
Successful secondary school qualification (Realschule or Hauptschule)

APPRENTICESHIP DURATION AND EXAMINATION:
The apprenticeship to become a warehouse logistics specialist usually takes 3 years
The lessons at the vocational college are part-time and all the examinations are taken before Koblenz Chamber of Industry and Commerce
By the way: The majority of our apprentices have found a suitable job with us after their apprenticeship.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer an apprenticeship for the career of specialist for warehouse logistics at this time.
Wholesale and Foreign Trade Merchant
WHAT DOES THIS JOB ENTAIL?
Foreign trade and wholesale merchants predominantly work in wholesale establishments. Their diverse range of duties includes the purchase of goods and services as well as the sale to industrial and chemical companies. They advise clients extensively on the various characteristics of individual products and have an overview of the manufacturers and the market. Thanks to their comprehensive product knowledge, they are also able to identify the ideal solution that meets the client’s needs.
